Allowance for Childcare
Home-based ChildcareHome-based childcare, Gastouderopvang in Dutch, is formal childcare provided in the home of the parents (in-home) or in the home of the childminder (out-home). Parents can also apply for childcare allowance for home-based childcare (gastouderopvang) if their childminder is registered by a licensed childcare agency (such as Blue Umbrella).
Childminders are required to obtain a (Dutch) childcare qualification and maintain Early Years First Aid training skills to meet the requirements of the Dutch Childcare Act. Blue Umbrella offers assesment based childcare qualifications and certified first aid courses for childminders in English. Our courses are compliant with the Dutch Childcare Act.
National Childcare Registrar
Home-based childcare providers must be registered with a formal childcare agency, such as Blue Umbrella. These childminders must also be registered in the National Childcare Registrar (Landelijke Register Kinderopvang) by 1 January 2011. As of January 2011, parents are only eligible for the Dutch Childcare Allowance if their home-based childcare provider is registered in the National Childcare Register.
Childcare Allowance for your childminder
Childcare allowance for your childminder will only be provided from the moment your childminder is registered in the National Childcare Registrar.
