Blue Umbrella's mission is to help international families settle in the Netherlands. Our service is designed to help families reach a healthy balance between work and private life.
There are many struggles that expats face when moving to the Netherlands. For expat families with small children these struggles are even greater as they often face the additional task of finding proper childcare for their children.
Blue Umbrella is dedicated to making international families feel at home in the Netherlands by helping them find, secure and afford quality childcare. Blue Umbrella has a broad network of contacts within the childcare community and an established relationship with the Dutch tax office. This grants us the ideal position to help families quickly and efficiently find the childcare they need and the tax support they require.
Blue Umbrella offers a range of services designed to help expat families with their childcare needs. We find and secure the best childcare option, we assists international families in attaining their Dutch Childcare allowance for their childcare center or private nanny, and we provide payroll service for domestic staff.
Blue Umbrella is an authorized HIP - Help and Information Point- for the Dutch Tax Authority Belastingdienst/Toeslagen. English-speaking parents can be helped by Blue Umbrella to obtain their childcare allowance. Employees of International Organisations and diplomatic and consular missions can obtain the required documents for domestic or private childcare staff and have us apply for the Dutch childcare allowance. We are also able to work with the tax office to obtain BSN numbers (social security numbers).
Blue Umbrella works in partnership with the Tax Office, which allows us to manage your tax account effectively. Blue Umbrella, acting as a repository for all your tax matters, receives your tax letters and digitizes it onto your personal MyBlue page. Your tax correspondence is safely and conveniently stored and you have access to it wherever you are. Blue Umbrella corresponds with the Dutch Tax Office on your behalf and will contact you for information requests. For those leaving the Netherlands again, we continue to be your gatekeeper for Dutch Tax matters.
The aim of Blue Umbrella is to help such families find the best quality childcare and schooling at the greatest possible savings while minimizing the bureaucracy commonly encountered by expatriates in accessing the Dutch system for the first time.
