Applying for one-time business allowance

The Dutch cabinet provides a one-time cash payment of EUR 4,000 for companies suffering from the measures taken to fight spread of the coronavirus. This payment, an allowance which don't need to be repaid, is to support companies financially.

Conditions for receiving an one-off allowance

Companies are eligible for the one-off allowance payment, if the following criteria applies to your company:

  1. Your business's main activity should be listed in the eligible industry sector list (see below)
  2. Home offices as business location are excluded
  3. If you reasonably expect that your business revenue declines by at least EUR 4,000 in the period 16 March 2020 to 15 June 2020
  4. You have fixed expenses (overhead) of at least EUR 4,000 in the period 16 March 2020 to 15 June 2020
  5. You have no more than 250 employees
  6. Establishment of your company and it's registration with the Dutch chamber of commerce (Kamer van Koophandel) is no later than 15 March 2020
  7. The company is not state owned
  8. Your company is not bankrupt or in liquidation or in the process of being liquidated   

Industry sectors qualifying for the one-time allowance

To qualify for the one-time allowance of EUR 4,000 your company's SBI code should indicate that your main business activity is in one of the following industry sectors:

  • Hospitality (such as food & beverages, restaurants, travel & tourism)
  • Personal service (such as hairdressing, barbering, beauty salons, manicure, sauna)
  • Events (such as events, fairs, festivals)
  • Sport (such as fitness, sportsclub, sport events, swimming pool)
  • Cultural (such as art exhibition, museum,  circus, theater, cinema, cultural education)
  • Driving school
  • Casino
  • Retail (such as shopkeepers)
Check your SBI code in your KvK registration to see if your company resorts to one of the industry sectors listed. An update of this list is expected as of 30 March 2020.

Applying for the one-off business allowance

If your business is eligible for the one-off business allowance, you can apply for it through the RVO state department: rvo.nl/tegemoetkomingcorona

To apply for the allowance, you need to have the following at hand:
  • DigiD or eHerkenning (level 1 or higher)
  • Your company's KvK number (registration number chamber of commerce)
  • Your company's SBI code
  • Your business bank account number
  • Your (physical) business location address
  • Correspondence address 
  • Business owner's contact details: full name, phone, e-mail 
You may also ask an intermediair to apply for your allowance. Application can be filed online only.


Application can be filed until Friday 26 June 2020.
