The Dutch Benefits Office (Dienst Toeslagen) is urging residents to verify their eligibility for various government benefits for the year 2023. It has been reported that over 10% of households entitled to healthcare allowance, housing benefit, or child-related budget are not applying for these benefits.
Key information
- Application deadline: All applications for 2023 benefits must be submitted by September 1, 2024. After this date, you will lose the right to claim benefits for this year.
- Eligibility check: You can check your eligibility by visiting the Dienst Toeslagen website and using their online trial calculation tool for 2023. If you qualify, you can apply directly through the "Mijn toeslagen" portal.
- Automatic continuation: Benefits granted for 2023 will automatically continue into 2024. However, if there are changes to your income in 2024, you must update this information in the "Mijn toeslagen" portal.
