Precario tax (precariobelasting)

What is it?

Precariobelasting is a tax for individuals or businesses that have objects on, under, or above public municipal land. Public municipal land is land owned by the municipality, intended for general use, and of potential interest to everyone. Examples include public roads, sidewalks, parks, and municipal water. The revenue from precariobelasting is used to finance municipal services, such as maintenance of roads and other public facilities.

Who pays it?

You are required to pay precariobelasting if you have an object on, above, or under public municipal land. Examples include (advertising) objects on facades, terraces or stalls, or balconies.

How is it calculated

Each type of "precario" object (balcony, object on facade, terrace, etc.) has an associated rate and calculation unit (e.g., square meters). We calculate the assessment by multiplying the rate by the number of units. Rates 2025

If you move, remove the "precario" object, or if there is any other change, ou can file an objection against the assessment.
